How it works
iRead 15 empowers children to embrace their reading journey and reach their goals with joy and confidence!

A time to read
1. Choose a Book:
Pick a book that your child is interested in. It can be anything from storybooks, picture books, or even a short chapter book, depending on their reading level and preference.
2. Set a Goal:
Decide how long you’ll read together. Choose a time goal that feels doable and engaging for your child. Options include:
- 5 minutes for quick reading sessions or for younger readers.
- 10 minutes to settle into a story.
- 15 minutes for a deeper, immersive reading experience.
3. Set a Timer, Hit Begin:
Grab your phone and set a timer to keep track of your reading time. This helps build focus and makes it easy to see when you’ve met your goal. It also adds an element of excitement as your child watches the time count down or up.
4. Read Together:
Grab your phone and set a timer to keep track of your reading time. This helps build focus and makes it easy to see when you’ve met your goal. It also adds an element of excitement as your child watches the time count down or up.
5. Make Observations:
After each reading session, celebrate your progress! Help your child add a sticker or use a dry-erase marker to check off the day’s reading on their tracker. This makes progress visible and adds a sense of accomplishment.
Rewards
ldren thrive on recognition and encouragement. Parents and teachers can reward children with small items they would already receive, such as stickers, extra playtime, or a special treat. Celebrating success through verbal praise and marking off days on the reading tracker also reinforces positive reading habits. Simple acknowledgments help children feel proud of their progress, keeping them motivated to continue their reading journey.

Staying Positive
Choose a reading time that fits your routine. Whether it’s before bedtime, after school, or during breakfast, consistency is key—but it doesn’t have to be the same time every day. Give kids the freedom to help pick books and decide when they feel most comfortable reading. This helps build excitement and ownership of the challenge. If reading feels tough some days, don’t stress! Keep it light, be patient, and remind your child that every little bit counts toward building great reading habits.
Accountability
When teachers and parents collaborate and join forces, incredible and transformative things can happen for our students’ academic and personal growth! It’s through this partnership that we can create an enriched learning environment that truly supports and nurtures each child’s unique potential.
